We serve the Coachella Valley: La Quinta, Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Indio, Rancho Mirage, and Cathedral City. If you are just outside those, call and ask. The answer depends on where you are relative to an existing route.
How often does a pool need service in the Coachella Valley?
Most pools in this climate are on weekly service, and the desert is the reason. Sustained heat burns off sanitizer faster than a milder climate does, evaporation concentrates minerals in what is left, and wind delivers sand and palm debris on its own schedule. Two weeks between visits is long enough for water to drift out of balance in summer.
Pools that are lightly used, shaded, or closed for part of the year can sometimes go longer. We will tell you honestly which one yours is.
What is included in a regular pool service visit?
Six things happen on every scheduled visit: brushing the walls, steps, and floor; skimming the surface and emptying the skimmer and pump baskets; testing and adjusting water chemistry; vacuuming settled silt and grit; washing the filter on schedule; and flagging any equipment issue we find. Repairs are handled as they come up, always with your approval before any work starts.
How much does pool service cost?
We quote after seeing the pool rather than over the phone, because the honest answer depends on the pool. Size, whether it has a spa, how much tree and palm cover sits over it, the equipment you are running, and its current condition all change the work involved. A quote built without looking is a guess, and guesses get revised upward later.
Coming out to look is free, and so is the quote. You will get a clear price for regular service plus anything we think needs attention up front, with no obligation either way.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry business liability insurance through SPPA. It is an easy thing for a service to skip and a difficult thing for a homeowner to verify, so we would rather state it plainly. If you would like confirmation before we start, just ask.
What does vacuuming with your own filter mean?
Vacuuming moves a surprising amount of silt and grit somewhere. For most pool services, that somewhere is your filter, which then needs cleaning more often, usually at additional cost to you.
We bring our own filter and vacuum through that instead, so the debris leaves with us. Your filter is not the thing absorbing the cleanup, and it needs servicing less often as a result. It is the difference owners notice on the bill rather than in the water.
How often does a pool filter need cleaning?
Watch the pressure gauge rather than the calendar. Note the reading when the filter is freshly clean and the pump is running normally, and service the filter when pressure climbs roughly 8 to 10 psi above that baseline. Your manufacturer may specify a different threshold, in which case the manual wins.
Desert pools generally need it more often than published intervals suggest, because wind-blown sand and hard water both land in the filter. We cover this in more detail in when your pool filter actually needs cleaning.
Do you handle pool repairs, or only cleaning?
Both. Equipment problems get flagged early, while they are still small, and we handle general repairs once you give the go-ahead. Nothing gets worked on without your approval first.
Why does my pool burn through chlorine so fast?
Heat and ultraviolet light both consume free chlorine, and the desert supplies plenty of each for a long stretch of the year. High bather load and organic debris consume more.
