Pool Service Terms of Agreement

The terms that apply to regular pool service with Valley Pool Club.

Last updated: September 5, 2026

These terms apply to regular pool service provided by Valley Pool Club in the Coachella Valley. Service begins when we have agreed a schedule and a price with you; at that point these terms form the agreement between us.

Scope of service

A regular service visit covers the same core checklist every time: brushing walls, steps and floors; skimming the surface; testing and adjusting water chemistry (sanitizer, pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness); vacuuming settled silt and grit; emptying skimmer and pump baskets; and a visual check of the equipment while we are there. We vacuum through our own filters rather than yours, so your filter loads more slowly.

Filter cleaning is performed on schedule as part of regular service. Anything beyond this checklist — repairs, drains, acid washes, filter media replacement, green-pool recovery, or work caused by storms, construction, or equipment failure — falls outside regular service and is quoted separately before we do it.

Schedule and access

Service visits are weekly unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We serve a route, so your visit falls on roughly the same day each week, but we do not guarantee a specific time of day.

You need to give us reliable access to the pool area and the equipment pad on your service day: gates unlocked or a code or key provided, and dogs secured. If we cannot get in, we will let you know and, where the route allows, return that week. If access fails repeatedly, the visit may be billed as completed.

Extreme weather, unsafe conditions, or a major holiday may move a visit. We aim to make it up within the same week where the route allows, and we will tell you when a visit is missed.

Water level and utilities

Keeping the pool at its normal operating level is the owner's responsibility. Desert evaporation is fast, and a level that drops below the skimmer can starve and damage the pump. Please also keep power and water available to the equipment. We are not responsible for damage caused by low water, interrupted power, or a circulation system that has been switched off between visits.

We will tell you if we notice the level running low, and we will not run equipment we believe is unsafe to run.

Water chemistry

We balance water to keep it safe and swimmable under normal use. Heavy bather loads, storms, refills with hard local water, and long gaps between visits can all move chemistry between visits. Where a pool needs more than routine dosing to recover, we will explain what is needed and quote it before starting.

Repairs and approvals

We flag equipment problems early, while they are still small. We do not carry out any repair, and do not incur any cost on your behalf, without your approval first. There is no dollar threshold we treat as pre-approved.

We will describe the problem, what it needs, and what it will cost, and wait for you to say yes. Parts and labor for approved repairs are billed in addition to regular service. Where a repair is beyond what we do, we will say so rather than attempt it.

Billing and payment

Regular service is billed monthly. The monthly rate covers the scheduled visits in that month regardless of how many fall in it, and is invoiced in advance. Approved repairs are billed after the work, on the next invoice.

Invoices are due on receipt. If an account falls more than 30 days behind we may pause service until it is brought current, and we will contact you before we do. Service paused for non-payment is not credited.

Price changes

We will give at least 30 days' notice before changing your regular service rate.

Cancellation

Either of us may end regular service with 30 days' written notice — a text or an email is fine. Service continues through the notice period and the final invoice covers the visits in it. Any amount paid in advance for visits after the end date is refunded.

Liability and insurance

We carry business liability insurance through SPPA and train every year to stay current on pool service guidelines, chemistry standards, and safety practices.

We are responsible for damage we cause through our own negligence. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, normal wear, the failure of ageing equipment, staining or scale from source water chemistry, or damage arising from low water level, interrupted utilities, or work done by others. Pool surfaces, tile, and equipment all age; routine care slows that but does not stop it.

Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Safety

Pool chemicals are stored and handled by us in line with the manufacturers' directions. Please keep children and pets away from the equipment pad and from any chemicals on site, and do not swim until we have told you the water is safe following a chemical treatment.

Gates, fences, covers, and alarms are safety equipment and remain the owner's responsibility.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will tell you, and the date above will show when they last changed.
